Yakima is a city of about 95,000 people. Altogether, about 250,000 people live in Yakima County, and slightly more than half of them are Hispanic.
We need a bilingual multimedia journalist who can help us reach the entire community.
In this role, you’ll provide news coverage for Spanish-speaking communities in the Yakima Valley, using audio, video, data visualization and the written word.
The YHR is one of five pilot newspapers in the Microsoft journalism initiative. Adding you to this newsroom is crucial to the project's success — and, ultimately, to the future of those who live and work in the Yakima Valley.
