This opportunity could be right for you if you have an area of expertise in one or more of these areas: cash crops, agronomy, livestock, business management, and markets. If you don't know that much about agriculture, but you are willing to learn, we are willing to train you.
You will develop original and enterprising story and interview ideas through research and development of contacts. You will actively participate in the assignment process and editorial meetings. You will regularly post links and photos on social media to promote our news content and engage with our farming audience. You are skilled at taking photos to post with your articles, and can easily make quick edits, and display creativity in the use of graphics and other visual elements.
You will demonstrate excellent time-management skills and an ability to write engaging, accurate stories on deadline. You will demonstrate an ability to manage a flexible work schedule to conduct onsite interviews with farmers and agri-businesses.
Part-time applicants must be able to commit to a defined schedule of availability.
