Description:

Hi — We are a leading tech company looking for a passionate researcher or aspiring data journalist to join our growing roster of exceptional freelancers writers. We create some of the most engaging content for the internet, and this moment of rapid growth and opportunity could be your chance to join us in our pursuit of this goal.

We are looking to add to our roster with a dedicated, kind, and hardworking writer and researcher. This undertaking requires someone who actively pursues solutions to problems, strives toward innovation, and aspires to grow and improve through guidance and collaboration. If you have experience in data analysis or are comfortable digging through spreadsheets to find stories within data, please apply!

About the Role
In this role, you will be researching and writing about various topics in a variety of B2C spaces: telecom, cord cutting & streaming services, home & digital security, physical safety, senior living, and retail/ecommerce. We create comprehensive industry research based on original surveys, government data sets, third-party interviews, and more.

We provide our writers with consistent and regular work, so WE WILL KEEP YOU BUSY, and you won’t be spending your time submitting proposals to posts such as this one. The pay rate for this project depends on the level of involvement the piece requires, but is typically $25-$30/hr. Per word rates are also available.

While we certainly prefer experience in these topics, it is not a prerequisite. If you exhibit a solid grasp on all things “tech,” or if you are an exceptional writer and researcher, you can still thrive in this position. We are searching for a true team player and problem solver with an affinity for written content, not someone who has necessarily “been there, done that.”

With your proposal, please attach any previous writings that showcase your command of the English language and aptitude for originality (bonus points for pieces where you were required to analyze some sort of extensive DATA SET).

We give you extensive direction up front and are there for questions along the way, and you will also have the freedom to take pieces in a direction you think will be most newsworthy and authoritative.

We want a driven and dedicated team player with an innate desire to become an integral asset in a long-term, diligent, and remote team. (If this description matches your personality, include “data-driven analysis” as the first thing in your proposal, along with what you find most appealing about this position.)
