Description:

The Killeen Daily Herald, an award-winning newspaper in Central Texas, is seeking an investigative reporter to cover education issues in the Killeen area. We are looking for an experienced print and digital reporter with an investigative approach to news who can track school district finances and communicate frequently with school board members and other sources.

Herald reporters are expected to file document requests to acquire information not otherwise available and to track the requests. Experience with reader engagement and social media is desirable, as are photography and video skills. This position includes editing and filling in for editors as needed. Editing skills and knowledge of AP Style are required. Military knowledge and experience is a plus. Killeen is a busy news town right outside Fort Cavazos.
