Adweek is looking for a talented and driven platforms reporter to join the media team. This position reports to the Media Editor.
This reporter will have a keen enthusiasm for the world of social media platforms and an intimate knowledge of how ad buyers work with them. This role covers what media and marketing professionals need to know about how social platforms impact and transform their brands. Coverage will include how brands and publishers create content and communications strategies for new and existing platforms, using tools, technologies, and strategies to grow audience and drive revenue, as well as the implications and the growing importance of user privacy. This reporter will also have a working understanding of how professionals measure media campaign activity, and how this contributes to brand perception, market positioning, and ultimately drive sales. This requires speaking directly with marketers and media professionals to understand the changing nature of their relationships with partners at media agencies, changing areas of investment, and major online ad inventory sources such as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Google and Amazon, as well as legacy media owners from the publishing and TV sectors.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, at least 2 years of relevant experience and proven source development, as well as a strong awareness of current and emerging tech platforms, and the media and marketing industry, news and trends.
