We’re a small but growing team, and we’re looking for an assistant editor to join us. This new position will focus largely on acquisitions, bookings, and other logistics. (We’re still young and scrappy enough that everyone pitches in where needed, of course, but this should be the focus.)
This a remote, 1099-style, contract position, paying $15/hour, with an estimated 10 to 20 hours per week. You could work from anywhere on the planet with a good internet connection, at least in theory. We’ll review in six months to see if it’s working for both sides, and figure out where we go from there.

Your unfair advantage:
This is a startup media company. It grew out of a project I launched during the early days of the pandemic, and now it's growing fast. There are always new opportunities and things that need to be done.
That means there's a silver bullet that can push someone who is interested in this gig to the front of the pack. It’s if you can do everything listed above, and you're enthusiastic and organized—and you’re also much better than our small team is already at something else that will help us build Understandably.
So, are you big on TikTok? Run a great Instagram account? Worked on a podcast? Got development or UX experience? Organized events? Got experience in self-publishing or KDP? Want to be the person who grows into the role and takes over what we’ll be doing on YouTube, or Twitch, or something else? Be sure to say so!
