Courthouse News Service, a California-based legal news service, is seeking a reporter to cover civil court filings and proceedings in Cook County. A legal background is not required, but demonstrated interest and ability in journalism is necessary.
The job will entail going to the Cook County courthouse (Daley Center) in downtown Chicago every weekday to review and summarize new civil filings. The reporter will also be expected to pitch and write legal news stories for the Chicagoland area. Competitive pay and benefits are offered for full-time work.
