Reports to Senior Director, Brand Strategy & Communications

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Publicist, you’ll coordinate a wide range of public relations activities and projects, including promoting PBS NewsHour content to relevant organizations and media, writing press releases, assisting with event management, and managing award submissions, media databases and NewsHour’s media tool kit.

YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS

You’ll get to know your team and the wider organization, and how each group functions independently as well as part of the whole. You’ll learn our fast-paced work style while establishing key relationships with colleagues.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

You’re able to identify and secure high visibility promotional activity for our on-air talent with plenty of lead-time. You’ve increased our brand awareness through various channels, among various groups. Your assistance in coordinating on-air talent events, station visits and other NewsHour events is invaluable, as you think two steps ahead an always have a plan b.
