The Hill seeks a general interest staff writer to write articles for an exciting, fast-growing section called Changing America, which such vital areas as human and civil rights, the environment and natural disasters, education and culture, Covid and healthcare.
As an integral part of the Changing America team, you will write stories in a demanding, fast-paced environment. You will take assignments throughout the day, research and write them, submit them for editing and post them. You should also be creative and resourceful in coming up with your own story ideas, and enthusiastic about taking editorial guidance.
We are looking for candidates who are comfortable reporting and writing on tight deadlines. You should have good news judgment, strong research skills and a real commitment to
factual and grammatical accuracy. And you should be familiar with posting stories and images in a CMS.
