ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you’ll be part of the senior editorial team that oversees and manages reporting for pbs.org/newshour and its associated platforms. You’ll supervisor a team of reports and work closely with the digital team, collaborating on strategy and development of digital content, projects and products. You also will work closely with the senior leadership of the PBS NewsHour broadcast to coordinate coverage and expand the audience reach across all potential platforms. This is a leadership position on an innovative digital team that is expanding and looking for a creative thinker with strong journalistic skills and editorial integrity.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
You’ll get to know your team and the wider organization, and how each group functions independently as well as part of the whole. You’ll establish key relationships with your peers, while being exposed to executives through participation in editorial planning meetings. You’ll identify future stories of likely interest to our existing and potential audience and coordinate our forward planning workflow, with an eye toward maximizing effective use of resources and creating distinctive, brand consistent content.

Your ability to seamlessly jump from project to project will enable you to flourish and experiment with the look and feel of digital news. You’ve developed trust with executive leadership. You understand how to manage and develop staff and help them produce their best work.
