key job duties:

initiative: writer generates at least four new story ideas per week that he/she will cover

- write about 6 articles per week (about 3,000 words total)

- take photos to accompany majority of articles

- take stand-alone "wild art" photos as needed

- write stories for several special sections, including county stock show, National FFA Week, visitor's guide magazine, city festival, hunters' edition

- assist with page layout

- newspaper publishes every Monday and Thursday

- some night and weekend work required

- post breaking stories and photos to newspaper website as needed
