The New Jersey Globe has an immediate opening for an entry-level, full-time political reporter to cover the always exciting, never disappointing 24/7 world of politics in New Jersey.
We are looking for a political junkie.
Our ideal candidate is someone who stayed up until 1AM watching Steve Kornacki analyze special election results and then spent another hour online looking for even more information. It’s fine to emigrate to New Jersey, if you have mastered politics in your home state. It helps if you know who Harold Stassen was before your interview.
Role and Responsibilities:
The ability to forge solid, trusting, two-sided relationships with public officials, party leaders and campaign staff is of great importance – as is the ability to cast your own views aside and look at every story with total objectivity. New Jersey politics demands a strong will and a good sense of humor.
A New Jersey Globe reporter will have access to the influencers and decision-makers in New Jersey. NewJerseyGlobe.com is leading the political news lane with authority. We are required reading for elected officials in New Jersey.
We are growing at a time when other journalism companies are scaling back.
Competitive pay schedule with benefits.
To apply, e-mail your cover letter, resume and clips to email@example.com
The New Jersey Globe is a non-partisan, non-ideological political news site with a laser focus on state and local politics process stories. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. We are an equal opportunity employer.
