Bluegrass Newsmedia seeks a news editor for three of our newspapers in central Kentucky, with the primary location being in Winchester.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced person to take the next step in their journalism career and advance within an established media company focused on the future of news gathering for print and online audiences.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, benefits, and retirement plan.
Responsibilities include supervising two reporters, as well as covering news and community events. The selected candidate will be an experienced editor with strong news judgment and experience in print and digital media. Excellent photography and video skills are also needed.
The news editor will plan news budgets and coverage of events at a multi-weekly and two weekly publications, as well as managing their websites. Although we publish multiple print editions of our papers each week, we take a digital-first approach to getting news published online quickly and accurately. This position reports to a regional editor.
Experience with WordPress and Adobe InCopy is a plus, but not a requirement.
Winchester is located in Clark County, 20 miles from Lexington.
