The Chronicle of Philanthropy is seeking a senior reporter/writer to join a new partnership The Chronicle forged with the Associated Press to develop journalism that helps readers understand the most under-covered and important parts of society: the $6 trillion nonprofit world.
Organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Salvation Army, the Movement for Black Lives, the World Wildlife Fund, and so many others together employ 1 out of every 11 Americans and advance solutions to problems often overlooked by government and business.
The mission of our expanded reporting team is to produce reporting that helps Americans learn more about how their giving and volunteering affects their communities and how philanthropists, foundations, corporate giving efforts, and nonprofits bring about change on issues like climate change, racial justice, health care, poverty, and education. The senior reporter/writer will also work across the Chronicle’s newsroom on projects and articles that will gain attention from policy makers, high-level donors, nonprofit board members, and the general public.
Through this addition to our reporting staff, we plan to expand our accountability and explanatory journalism that uncovers the players, strategies, and money behind pivotal efforts to transform our society and that points the way to new solutions that improve the lives of people around the world.
