JOB TITLE: Breaking News Reporter
OVERVIEW: International Business Times is seeking a breaking news reporter who can write about a wide range of topics, particularly finance and economics. This job calls for the successful candidate to write a mix of breaking news and enterprise stories with nationwide and global appeal. And the successful candidate will be committed to fairness and accuracy, and will have a strong grounding in journalism ethics.
Write breaking news stories as well as rewrite content from other credible media outlets.
Pitch enterprise ideas on a range of topics.
Collaborate with other team members as needed.
Exceptional writing skills -- clean and compelling - and solid knowledge of AP style.
A strong understanding of the need to work smart and fast in a digital newsroom.
The abilities to both multitask - juggle daily and enterprise stories - and shift priorities and/or story focus as the news shifts.
Ability to work well with others in a virtual workspace.
This contract position is remote.
