The Victoria Advocate, a family-owned award-winning community newspaper, is searching for a breaking news/public safety reporter to work with a strong team of reporters.
Candidate must possess an urgency in reporting breaking news for digital and print. Must be able to build rapport with law enforcement and first responders. Must have reliable transportation. Digital and social media experience is a must. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required. Some writing experience or internships is a plus.
Victoria is in south eastern Texas about 30 minutes from the Gulf coast and two hours from major cities of Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
