The Algemeiner newspaper is seeking a Senior Campus Correspondent to report on antisemitism and anti-Israel activity at university campuses and schools around the world, as well as cover stories about Jewish student life.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for breaking stories with national and international implications. They will be eager to cultivate our network of sources and contacts, able to meet regular deadlines, and demonstrate a commitment to the highest ethical standards while leading the Campus Bureau’s growth.
Location: Our office is located in New York, NY. Candidates who prefer to work remotely are also welcome to apply.
Identify leads and pitch original article ideas to editors
Interview sources and fact-check information
Draft an average of five articles weekly for submission
Regularly meet article deadlines
Establish and develop relationships with contacts and sources
Maintain records of notes and interviews
Complete quarterly reports as needed
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Two or more years of experience in journalism or a related role, including at a campus newspaper
Strong communication, writing, and editing skills
Commitment to ethical, objective, and fact-driven reporting
Familiarity with WordPress interface a plus
