Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Digital Content Manager

The main component of this position is the lead curator/reporter for a newsletter intended for younger (22-35) Arkansans. The person in this role will build the product from the ground up and own it, using their voice to grow audience. They will curate content relevant to younger Arkansans as well as create new content to fill the gap of needs not being met. They will listen to the conversations of the young Arkansan community and use audience tools to position the newsletter for discovery, engagement and amplification. This person needs to be creative, willing to experiment and have the ability to write in an engaging, narrative tone.

We are looking for a journalist with the following skills:
• Willingness to collaborate across the newsroom
• A strong record of achievement in reporting/editing
• Experience in presentation through multiple platforms/social media
• Proficient in multimedia storytelling
• The ability to interpret and use audience analytics to build products and attract/nurture new readers
• A passion for creative storytelling
• An ability to curate and create content to facilitate a compelling, engaging
experience for a specific group
• Ability to interpret engagement data to tailor strategies to fit audience needs

Job requirements:
- A B.A./B.S. degree
- At least 2 years of journalism experience, including editing

This is a professional fellowship. The position is grant-funded for a year with opportunities to grow at our company.

The person in this role will report to the senior online editor.

Twisting, kneeling, and bending, movements are required Finger and wrist dexterity are required
