Newsweek is seeking informed and enthusiastic news reporters for its breaking news and pop culture teams. The ideal candidates will have good working knowledge of current events and a voracious appetite for news. He or she will be able to plan coverage around diary events and react quickly to breaking news. He or she will be able to write clean and accurate news copy in a timely manner for a digital audience. He or she will also exude initiative by cultivating and maintaining relationships with the sources for access to interviews.


Role responsibilities: 

Source and write breaking stories relevant to Newsweek readers. 

Keep on top of the U.S. political, crime and government news agenda, internet trends, cultural news and important calendar events. 

Produce high quality, accurate copy. 

Work to tight deadlines. 

Pitch and execute exclusive stories. 


Role requirements: 

At least four years of news writing experience.

Good knowledge over a range of interests, such as crime, government, coronavirus, politics.

Able to show initiative and ability to maintain and utilize contacts/sources.
