Digital Privacy News is a new independent daily news website devoted to coverage of “all things privacy.”

Launched on March 30, we are a service of the nonprofit Magnusson Institute in Reno, Nev. The institute is headed by Peter S. Magnusson, a technology entrepreneur who has worked at Google, Snapchat and other Silicon Valley companies. He has a longstanding interest in privacy and related issues.

We believe in “informing you without watching you.” We now have 13,000 Twitter followers.

Digital Privacy News is seeking Washington-based freelance writers to cover privacy issues on Capitol Hill.

Privacy continues to be a major issue in Congress, as both parties have proposed legislation to protect citizens’ data privacy and huge technology companies have called on legislators to create laws governing facial recognition and other tech out of fears that it could be used for surveillance or for stirring social unrest.

These are paid freelance positions. Payment is $1 a word.

If interested, please take a read of the site and send a short cover letter, LinkedIn profile link or resume and three writing links.
