The D. E. Shaw group seeks an exceptionally detail-oriented individual to join its Investor Relations
group as an associate on the team that produces marketing materials and investor reporting documents.
Members of Investor Relations perform both marketing and client service functions for current
and prospective investors in the firm's investment products.
WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
The associate will primarily be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and editing investor-focused documents
in support of the firm's $29 billion asset management business,
which runs active strategies across the alpha to beta spectrum in major,
liquid asset classes, including systematic, benchmark-relative equity strategies and multi-asset class portfolios.
They will coordinate with various groups in the firm to help bring those documents to completion and will also manage
and implement projects to support the team's operational infrastructure, especially in areas of document automation, data
integrity, and regulatory compliance. The role provides significant exposure to all aspects of the firm's asset management
business, including interdepartmental collaboration with investment, legal and compliance, financial operations, and
technology infrastructure groups.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree or higher with at least one to three years of experience in
roles requiring outstanding project management, organizational, and analytical abilities; superb writing, editing,
and proofreading skills; and exceptional attention to detail.
• Significant experience with advanced features in Microsoft Office is a prerequisite.
• Individuals who exhibit an aptitude for visual data presentation and who are able to identify insights from
data in order to produce a compelling narrative are highly sought after.
• Previous experience in financial services is not required, though the ability to quickly grasp financial
concepts and a general interest in financial markets are both advantageous.
