The National Interest, a Washington-based magazine that focuses on international affairs, foreign policy, and politics, is searching for a writer specializing in military hardware and defense issues. This is a full-time, freelance position.

The best part: You can work from home--no need to ever come to an office!

The right candidate will work remotely between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday. We will consider additional flexibilities for highly qualified candidates.

We are looking for an individual who can write five to six short posts per day about important military issues. Each article would be 400–650 words in length.

• A keen interest and understanding of the following topics: U.S. military hardware, Russian military hardware, NATO military hardware, stealth fighter technology, and Chinese military hardware and strategy.

• Familiarity with the industries and companies that produce various war weapons.

• Successful candidates must have the ability to write clearly, intelligently, and thoughtfully on short deadlines.

• A bachelor’s degree.

• The ability to cover breaking news at odd hours if needed. While this is rare, it does happen.
