The Bulletin, Central Oregon's paper of record, is seeking an experienced reporter to cover one of the region's fastest-growing communities, the city of Redmond, in addition to general assignment reporting around the region. You'll need to live in the Bend or Redmond, Ore. area in order to be immersed in the community. Flexibility to work from home several days per week is possible.
The successful candidate will be curious, dogged and willing to unearth powerful, interesting stories, whether they come from city hall or the grange hall. This reporter needs to be self-directed and able to juggle daily stories and enterprise work. The ideal candidate will be comfortable switching gears from a city council meeting to a compelling character profile to wildfire coverage. Digital publication skills and stellar writing chops a must.
Daily media reporting experience, a bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, or a combination of experience and education is required.
This position is located in vibrant Central Oregon, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and boundless outdoor recreation opportunities, plus a lively entertainment scene. The Bulletin was recently acquired by EO Media Group, a family-owned Oregon company, ensuring a continued focus on state and local journalism that resonates with readers.
This is a full time position, generally working Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional evening or weekend hours. We are a drug-free workplace and an equal opportunity employer.
