We're looking for an ambitious Reporter/Newswriter to join the editorial team at Endpoints News — the fastest growing daily publication covering the business of drug development.
This position requires a fierce devotion to breaking news, digging in and ferreting out exclusives, and the ability to write up stories with an understanding of the context that’s most important for core readers. The right candidate will work with founder and editor John Carroll, who’s been covering the field day in and day out for 17 years. Some experience covering news would be a big advantage, but be prepared to adjust to a conversational style that addresses readers digitally on a face-to-face basis, 24/7.
As a news organization, working hours start early. The position is likely to be remote, though we do have an office in Lawrence, KS if you prefer to be based in this fun college town.
Built from the ground-up, Endpoints recently celebrated its third anniversary. We're an independent publication directed straight at the biopharma world and the executives who run it, written in a lively and authoritative style, keeping things to the point and specializing in putting news in context — translating why a story is important for readers. Our audience is global, but each reader is sitting at the virtual desk next to your own.
We publish 8-12 articles throughout the day as biopharma news breaks, neatly packaged in our daily email reports and published realtime on the web. Most of our articles are not paywalled, so they're easily discoverable by Google to brand new audiences, driving traffic on top of the core audience of newsmakers that's been following the founding team's work for well over a decade. With an audience of 2 million web visitors monthly, and 70,000 active daily email subscribers, our news reports are read closely by an elite audience employing cutting-edge science in the pursuit of profit and curing human disease.
