The PAR program is a unique blend of classroom study and real-life work experience featuring a six-month internship during which you'll earn academic credit working as a full-time reporter in the Illinois Statehouse pressroom for a newspaper, wire service, radio outlet or TV station. Along the way, you'll pick up scores of clips or hours of broadcast reel as impressive proof to your next prospective boss that you can cover a very demanding beat at the highest professional level. You'll also receive a $585/month stipend and a tuition waiver during the internship, making PAR one of the most cost- and time-efficient ways to boost your journalism career prospects.
