Hawaii’s largest news organization — the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and its website — is looking for an experienced multimedia journalist to join our team. The successful candidate must have professional journalism experience that includes reporting, video production and social media. The multimedia journalist works with reporters, editors, photographers and internal developers to meet deadlines and deliver quality reporting on the Star-Advertiser’s multiple platforms. 

Basic requirements:
> Solid news judgment;
> Experience shooting and editing news videos;
> Proven deadline writing and editing experience;
> Experience using social media platforms for news reporting;
> Ability to engage effectively with readers.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who has already succeeded in a deadline-intense news environment, works well in a team, and can communicate effectively. Familiarity with Mac OSX, Adobe Photoshop and content management systems a must. Experience with WordPress, NewsEngin, Adobe Creative Suite, (including Premiere Pro and Acrobat) is preferred, as is a connection with Hawaii.
