Akron Life magazine is seeking an assistant editor. This person is a passionate, driven and curious storyteller. Being a hard worker and a multitasker is a must. This candidate has journalism experience, strong organizational skills and the ability to write and edit thought-provoking stories. This person should always be on the hunt for meaningful stories and have the ability to continuously see The 330 in fresh ways. This person will write and edit a substantial amount of content for the magazine, generate social media content, interview sources, work ahead on future issues, copy edit and fact check. This person should have a knack for creativity and telling feature stories.
Since 2002, Akron Life magazine has been the monthly source for thoughtful stories about interesting places, personalities and events in Akron and the surrounding area. The award-winning magazine covers Summit, Portage, Medina, Stark and Wayne counties. Akron Life is committed to telling stories that enhance and enrich the lives of people in The 330. Issues cover a range of timely and relevant topics including the history of jazz in Akron, a guide the local theater scene, compelling pet rescue stories, profiles of women breaking barriers and more. The magazine is a resource for where to eat, what to do and where to shop in The 330.
Akron Life is also home to the annual 330 Flavor Awards that honor the best in local dining, the annual Best of The City awards, the new 330 Homes magazine and city guides for downtown Akron, Canton and more.
