The American Chemical Society is looking for a Business Journalist to join C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News) in their Publications Division.

C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News) produces authoritative, award-winning journalism from around the world of chemistry, including research, education, industry, funding, and regulatory policy. It is published by the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world’s largest scientific society dedicated to a single discipline, and is widely considered one of the major benefits of membership. C&EN’s weekly magazine reaches approximately 150,000 members of ACS, and its daily website receives more than 7 million page views per year.

A bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related scientific field is preferred; education in science or business journalism is desirable. One to three years of experience writing about science and/or science-based business is required. Strong news judgement, good writing and editing skills, and good oral communication skills are required. Experience creating content for newsletters, social media, audio, and/or video are all strong assets.
