The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA), a national trade association representing healthcare product suppliers, is seeking a Staff Writer. The position will assist in promoting HIDA’s mission, products, services, and events to association members, industry stakeholders, and the broader healthcare community through communications content and deliverables. This role will create and manage content across departments. The Staff Writer will manage daily and monthly e-newsletters, serve as editorial assistant for association magazine, support social media campaigns, and execute other strategic communications initiatives as assigned.
The ideal Staff Writer has exceptional writing skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines, an intellectual curiosity that feeds a passion for understanding and investigating unfamiliar issues, superior time management, and an unparalleled attention to detail. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a concentration in public affairs, journalism, or communications. Two to three years of experience in reporting, writing, and social media is required. Healthcare industry knowledge a plus and project management skills highly desired.
