The Hill seeks a Senior Editor for an exciting new nonpolitical section of TheHill.com creating news and feature stories about positive change in such vital areas as human rights, the environment, education and health care.
You will be at the heart of a dynamic digital news department, helping to build and manage a small team producing a high volume of content. You will generate lots of ideas for short articles and longer features, assign to a team of staff writers and freelancers, guide the editorial process, and top-edit stories before they are posted. The ideal candidate has sharp news judgement, the creativity to come up with fresh editorial angles, and the ability to write smart and provocative headlines.
You’ll need 4+ years of digital news publishing experience working with content management systems and digital tools. You’ll need experience editing and writing breaking news pieces as well as features. And you’ll need to be thoroughly experienced with social media and web production.
