Description:

The Las Vegas Sun is looking for a dynamic copy editor to fill an opening in our newsroom.

The successful candidate will work on both print and online products, copy-editing stories for and assisting in the production of the Las Vegas Sun, a Pulitzer Prize-winning daily newspaper, proof pages for its sister magazine publications and oversee production of the Sun’s website one shift per week.

Strong copy-editing and writing skills along with proficiency as a page designer are a must. We’re looking for someone who catches typos before using spell check, looks up names, fact-checks as a matter of routine and raises questions before stories get in print. Candidates also will be self-starters with sound news judgment, solid knowledge of grammar rules and AP style, experience with InDesign and Photoshop, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

This is predominantly a daytime position and includes a Saturday shift.

The Sun is a product of Greenspun Media Group, a diversified media company whose titles also include award-winning Las Vegas Weekly, Las Vegas Magazine and a family of leading websites. We’re building a media company for the next 50 years, and we take pride in the quality and progressive nature of our work.

To apply, send a resume and samples to: jobs@gmgvegas.com with “Copy Editor” in the subject line. Greenspun Media Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
