Rome Night News Editor

The Rome News-Tribune, a daily newspaper in Floyd County, Ga., is seeking a night news editor. While it's titled night news editor, the shift is regularly an evening one and many days you're out the door by or before 9 p.m. The night news editor also coordinates content for the Opinion pages, gathering columnists, letters to the editor, editorial cartoons, etc. (There is no layout or pagination required in this position.) Reporting and strong writing skills necessary. Ability to work with others and make their copy better. Knowledge of digital media is a plus. It's a flexible schedule that includes some night/weekend/holiday work - but all the staff share that role. The Rome News-Tribune is a family-owned, award-winning newspaper serving northwest Georgia. Background check is required for employment.  Send resume and writing samples to Executive Editor John Bailey at jbailey@npco.com.
