The Quad-City Times is seeking a journalism professional to manage our newly developed special publications division including our flagship publication, QC Insight Business Journal. This position reports directly to the Publisher.
The Editor of QC Insight Business Journal and Special Publications works directly with the editorial team, staff writers and freelance contributors to coordinate efforts on our print and digital platforms, ensuring the relevance and timeliness of QC Insight coverage and making sure contributors meet deadlines and deliver outstanding content. The Editor is also responsible for nurturing the brand and representing the magazine at events, writing the editor’s letter and acting as the public “face” of the publication. The Editor will work with other departments to build out content opportunities for both print and digital platforms. This is a hands-on role where the manager is also interviewing sources and writing a wide variety of feature stories.
The ideal candidate will have a journalism or related degree and extensive writing and editing experience across both print and digital platforms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or Media Communications, at least three years of experience in publishing; direct experience in editing preferred, but not required.
