Duties include researching businesses as potential advertisers and identifying decisions makers on the accounts; calling on account decision makers to present the benefits of regional sports networks; and monitoring sold schedules to ensure they run correctly. A minimum of 3-5 years experience in sales at a media company or network is required. A Bachelor’s degree is required. A strong overall knowledge of the media industry and media math is also required. Superior listening and skills, including the ability to make effective presentations both on-one-one and in group settings are necessary. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook is required. Proficiency in PowerPoint is necessary. Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong business relations is required. Good organizational and project management skills are necessary. The ability to multitask and work effectively in a high pressure environment is also required. Travel is required.
