Description:

Professional Sports Publications is looking for freelance writers to contribute to high school basketball preview publications for a number of school districts across the country.

We’re looking for writers who can connect with coaches to write a few articles on a given district’s boys basketball teams. Further information and expectations about those articles will be shared with those who may be a good fit for the work.

Writers may be able to do more than one project, based on experience and circumstances. We’re looking for writers to cover these districts:

Arizona - Mesa Unified

California - Fresno Unified, Long Beach Unified

Colorado - Denver

Florida - Brevard County, Broward County, Dade County, Duval County, Palm Beach County

Louisiana - New Orleans

Maryland - Montgomery County

Pennsylvania - Philadelphia

Texas - Arlington, Fort Worth

Virginia - Prince William County, Loudoun County, Virginia Beach

Wisconsin - Milwaukee

Local writers in or near these districts are preferred. Sportswriting experience is also preferred, as is high school sportswriting experience, though it’s not necessary. Other candidates may be considered based on general experience.

Please respond with a letter expressing your interest and noting your relevant qualifications, along with a résumé. Compensation will be discussed with prospective candidates for these projects.
