Los Angeles/ San Francisco-based communications firm is looking for a marketing/PR/communications professional to work as part of our account team serving more than a dozen high-growth tech startups in various industry sectors.
Candidates can be based remotely, anywhere in the U.S. We think office cubicles are so behind our time, and we enjoy the focus and productivity our home office brings.
This is a great opportunity for someone with decent B2B tech experience who wants to “do things differently” in PR. Our clients include some of the most innovative tech disruptors in healthcare, ecommerce, energy, and SaaS software sectors.
Handle some or all of the day-to-day management of various clients’ social media accounts, including content drafting, community engagement, social listening and monitoring.
Assist with all aspects of media/PR outreach campaigns, including press release development, media research/pitching, campaign reports, and so forth.
Help with day-to-day account management, including scheduling calls, taking meeting notes, recording/transcribing calls, and drafting agenda/recaps.
Research the latest industry trends, study reports/stats, competitor activities, and other areas to help the account team gather important insights.
Collaborate with firm partners, director of media strategy, writers, and other team members on all other account services activities as needed.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in content marketing, public relations, social media, and/or related fields.
Must be fluent in B2B communications and the tech/startup lingo. Preferred if you have dealt with a variety of industry sectors, such as healthcare, ecommerce/retail, energy, and cybersecurity.
Must live and breathe Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets. Must be comfortable working remotely using tools such as Skype to collaborate effectively.
Experience in press release development, media research and pitching, social media planning and execution, and proposal writing.
Must be a team player with a “can-do” spirit who is comfortable with wearing different hats and can “get things done” efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
While a big agency background catches the eye, we are looking for scrappy, results-driven, fast-learning and self-motivated professionals who thrive in overcoming challenging tasks on a tight schedule.
Be generally curious and inquisitive about all the latest happenings in tech and business, even outside of your work.
Should have a good sense of humor and enjoy the work. No egos here please and don’t complain.
The position will require 10 to 25+ hours per week initially, for the right work-horse, it may move to full time sooner than later. Hourly compensation will be based on experience, quality of work, and speed and range from $25-$45 per hour.
Please send your CV, an intro email, and three examples of your work to: email@example.com. Please remember, the cover letter is a critical part of your submission.
