Description:

The Baltimore Sun is seeking a reporter to cover Baltimore City Hall. The Sun has provided essential and engaging public service journalism on this beat, including stories in the past year alone that have had an immense impact on city government, Baltimore and beyond – in particular the investigations into the hiring of a new police commissioner and the mayor’s LLC selling children’s books to organizations with business before the city. As a new mayor, City Council president and other leaders struggle to reduce record-breaking levels of homicide, violence and vacant houses, they are jostling for influence and power. The 2020 election season will be fast and furious, with candidates needing to declare themselves by Jan. 24 for an April 28 primary that should determine who leads the city.
