The Impact: We are looking for an energetic leader with a sharp editorial eye and the ability to steer a large, talented team covering banks, asset managers, financial services companies, financial technology and investment banking. Our Americas-focused Financial Institutions team reports on breaking news, regulatory developments and industry trends, with a particular focus on data-driven reporting. The News Desk Manager provides editorial and operational oversight for the team of reporters, editors and newswriters based in offices in the U.S. and around the world and working a variety of shifts. The News Desk Manager also represents the team to the broader organization beyond News, fielding questions about coverage and editorial standards, flagging stories for broader marketing efforts and working with product teams to improve our overall offering.
The Career Opportunity: This is a high-profile position leading our longest-standing team with an established readership. You will have the opportunity to lead the evolution of a young group of reporters and editors as well as work with veteran reporters to continue to provide timely, relevant and industry-leading news.
The Team / The Business: You will join an expanding, global newsroom filled with ambitious journalists with deep sector expertise. You will also gain access to a wealth of data and analysis from across the company to help explain the "why," contextualize the news and offer unique insights.
Requirements: Candidates should have strong editing skills with an eye for enhancing relevance and readability, sharp news judgment, excellent collaboration skills and ability to work with a diverse group of journalists, experience directly managing a team, experience providing feedback and coaching, strong understanding of financial institutions, and an ability to work in a fast-paced, web-focused newsroom.
