Marquee Sports Network is the future exclusive television home of the Chicago Cubs in partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: SBGI). It will be the Chicago-region’s exclusive network for fans to view live Cubs games beginning with the 2020 Major League Baseball season and will also feature extensive pre and postgame coverage, exclusive Cubs content and other local sports programming. Marquee Sports Network brings together one of the most iconic sports franchises in the country with one of the largest television broadcasting companies to deliver unprecedented Cubs coverage for fans.

We are seeking a Director, Marketing for this newly formed regional sports network. This vital team member will have the unique opportunity to be a part of building a new brand. Our ideal candidate has experience both driving marketing strategy and ensuring excellence in execution across various go to market approaches inclusive of B2B and B2C efforts. This individual must be able to work in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment – partnering with both the Chicago Cubs and Sinclair Broadcast Group as we launch and strengthen the brand and network.

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, the Director, Marketing will serve as a guardian for the Marquee Sports Network brand. The Director will support brand marketing efforts, leveraging every platform to drive viewership and build the Marquee Sports Network brand within Cubs territory and beyond. They will leverage their understanding of regional insights, demographics, and psychographics to influence marketing initiatives and have a clear understanding of competitive environment, marketing and social trends. They will develop and refresh consumer profile, identify opportunities to enrich understanding of consumer motivations, behaviors to inform business planning and execution.

This person will contribute to the development and execution of an integrated marketing and communications plan with the goal of delivering excellent communications with and among our consumer, advertising partners and network affiliates. They will collaborate with other Marketing team members, Advertising Sales teams, Programming and Production executives as well as other internal and external constituents to ensure that content and communications are consistent, effective and engaging to all audiences.
