TheBrainPossible.com, a new website that provides resources for parents of children with neurological conditions, is seeking a Website and Content Manager.

The Website and Content Manager will take an entrepreneurial approach to managing The Brain Possible website on a day-to-day basis. He or she will execute the purpose, mission, goals, and aims of the Who Is Carter Foundation, while upholding its founding values. This position reports directly to the Executive Director, Emily Abbott.
Background: The Brain Possible was created to inspire and empower parents, caregivers, and practitioners who care for children with brain injuries. It is a project of The Who Is Carter Foundation, which was founded by Emily and her husband, Matt, in 2017. The purpose of the Foundation is to change the conversation around childhood brain injury from one of limitations to one of hope.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities: (Website Management, Content Development, Writing, Editing, Public Relations, and Podcast Development)
Website Management, Content Development, Writing, and Editing:
Create and manage a content calendar of blog posts and article releases
Copywriting for blog posts and new website content
Conduct thorough editing and proofreading of all written content
Ensure the accuracy of all website content--written and visual
Upload images and adjust website layout (as needed)
Manage any freelance graphic design, photography, or videography projects
Manage any volunteers working on the research, writing, and editing/proofreading needs of the website
Manage and update the website’s Practitioner Registry database
Manage and update the website’s Recommended Products catalog
Monitor news and scientific studies to ensure that website content is up-to-date
Ensure a high-quality user experience for all website visitors by improving and maintaining website functionality, responding to user questions and concerns, monitoring website comments and forums, and brainstorming ways to make website resources even more useful, engaging, and accessible
With the support of an attorney, ensure that the website complies with all copyright and privacy laws by staying abreast of the basic and ever-changing copyright and privacy practices
Manage communication and work collaboratively with parents and practitioners as a representative of the Who Is Carter Foundation and The Brain Possible
Manage the relationships and communication with website developer and website server
Regularly post and engage with followers on the brand’s Instagram account by employing social media best practices and powerful storytelling
The Brain Possible Podcast Development*:
*Not a current project; development to begin a year out
Assist with the development and management of a podcast calendar
Assist with the vetting, research, and scheduling of podcast interviewees
Draft podcast outlines and scripts
Manage the recording, uploading, and post-production phases of each podcast
Assist in the creation of opportunities for cross-promotion with other podcasts and media channels
Create and upload Show Notes, upload completed podcasts
Establish and maintain a budget for the podcast
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
B.A. in Communication, Journalism, English, or a related field
Visionary and forward-thinking
Experience with Google applications, especially Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive
Experience working with a web Content Management System
A solid understanding of SEO and social media best practices
Exceptional written communication skills: able to write creatively, succinctly, and capable of tailoring a written piece to a specific audience
A passion for health, wellness, and powerful storytelling
Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong communication, planning and implementation skills, as well as natural curiosity, research, and synthesizing abilities
Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of a website: its appearance, its readability, its functionality, its accuracy
Excellent ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects, responsibilities, and competing deadlines; self-directing
Creative thinker and problem-solver
A high degree of professionalism and flexibility which enables you to work alongside others collaboratively (and successfully)
Consistent high level of integrity and ethics – both personally and professionally
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with Prismic and Heroku
Experience managing online databases and/or eCommerce sites
Graphic design experience
An interest in child development, wellness, and brain health, and a commitment to impacting the quality of life for children affected by neurological conditions
A curiosity about complementary and alternative medicine/treatments
