Creative Loafing Tampa Bay has an immediate opening for an ass-kicking, muckraking news reporter. Ideal candidates are fluent in both public records searches and narrative nonfiction, at home with both 3,000-word investigative features and breaking news blurbs, know how to cultivate a wide array of sources, and have familiarity with new-media best practices. Most important, they will possess an insatiable desire to tell local stories that matter, to tell them well and to do it unapologetically.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and should have experience writing for online publication.
We are committed to creating a diverse environment. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender or gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, age or veteran status. In addition to a competitive compensation and benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life, 401K, PTO), we offer an inclusive, casual-attire, pet-friendly environment. This position is based in Tampa’s historic Ybor City.
