The Adirondack Daily Enterprise has an opening for a full-time news editor.
The job involves page design as well as news editing, assigning and writing — working with the managing editor and sports editor to ensure the day-to-day operation of a busy small-town daily newspaper at the highest possible level of quality. Also, this editor will solely oversee the Weekender, a weekly section on arts, entertainment and events.
Page design experience and at least two years of full-time journalism experience are required, as are curiosity, initiative, teamwork and strong writing and editing abilities. Familiarity with the area is preferred.
The Enterprise is among New York’s most consistently award-winning small newspapers. It is the only daily published in the Adirondack Park, a patchwork of state forest and private land the size of Vermont.
To apply, email a resume, references and three writing samples to Managing Editor Peter Crowley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
