The Laredo Morning Times is looking for a news reporter to join its staff. LMT is a daily newspaper owned by Hearst Corporation serving the Laredo, Texas area which has a population of more than 250,000. The position will feature an individual focusing half of their time on business reporting while also assisting with government and general assignment stories.
At least one year of experience is preferred, but recent graduates with experience through internships or their student newspapers are encouraged to apply. The right candidate must be organized, have a thorough knowledge of news and education, and be able to write compelling stories in AP style. Breaking news, meeting deadlines and social media are a must.
Laredo is a warm environment which features palm trees and winter months with highs of 70 degrees.
