EducationNC is seeking an Audience Engagement Specialist. Our work focuses on engaging North Carolinians around an array of education issues. We believe engaging North Carolinians is just as important as keeping them informed. We are seeking an Audience Engagement Specialist to help us build relationships with readers across platforms including email newsletters, text messaging, search engines, and social media. The majority of this position’s role will focus on our postsecondary education work. This is a full time position.
We’re looking for someone who will be a listener and a conversationalist. The ideal candidate will be passionate about audience engagement across all of our channels — including by developing strategies for channels we are not currently using. We want this person to really get to know our community, understand their information needs, and help to close our engagement loop. We seek a candidate with experience and a knack for getting people to subscribe to newsletters, share their thoughts, and submit stories on pressing issues. We also want this person to be able to help track our successes (or failures!) with our audience.

EducationNC is a collection of nonprofits and initiatives that provides citizens and policymakers with nonpartisan data, research, news, information, and analysis about the major trends, issues, and challenges bearing on K-12 and postsecondary education in North Carolina.
EdNC is our online, daily, independent newspaper. The N.C. Center for Public Policy Research is our 40-year-old, nonpartisan think tank studying the most important policy issues facing our state. Reach NC Voices is our 21st century town hall, using messaging tools to connect us to people and people to us to discuss public policy in real time so we can better understand communities across our state. And First Vote NC is our online, simulated election experience for high school students so that they graduate civic ready.
This position pays above the market rate for similar positions but does not include benefits.
