We are seeking a general assignment reporter in Libby, Montana to cover the rural communites of Lincoln County.

The Western News needs to immediately fill this vital role in the newsroom.  This person will play a key role with the news team working to cover a set of small, welcoming communities in the northwest corner of Montana, among some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. This reporter will cover everything from breaking news to features, outdoors and sports. Let us know if you have expereince with page design, photo/video or social media. New graduates and local candiates are encouraged to apply. 

The Western News is published twice a week and is the top source for local news in the Libby and Troy areas. Libby is the county seat of Lincoln County, with a population of about 2,600. This mountain town is an outdoors paradise, with easy access to the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness and Lake Koocanusa and the Kootenai River (where "The Revenant" was filmed).
