Stuart Warner, the Pulitzer Prize-winning editor-in-chief at Voice Media Group’s Phoenix New Times, will be stepping down in October after nearly a half-century in the news business. That means VMG is in the market for an experienced successor to continue New Times’ proud tradition of hard-hitting local journalism, which most recently includes the 2018 George Polk Award for immigration reporting.
Successful lead-editor applicants will have a well-honed story sense, the ability to support, manage and motivate creative personnel, and an appreciation for the adrenaline rush of daily digital journalism. They’ll also possess flawless line- and copy-editing skills and an innate understanding of the importance of engaging readers across multiple platforms. This is a full-time job with benefits.
Voice Media Group specializes in aggressive coverage of news and politics in major American markets. Its publications include Denver Westword, Phoenix New Times, Miami New Times, the Dallas Observer, the Houston Press and New Times Broward-Palm Beach.
