If you're a college journalism student or recent graduate looking to gain invaluable on-the-job sportswriting or social media experience, the Athlete Interactive Internship Program is for you.

SPORTSWRITING INTERNSHIP

Each participant in our Sportswriting Internship works directly with Athlete Interactive editors to help create content for the web sites and social media properties of one or more company clients.

We are looking to bring on four sportswriting interns from October 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Interns may work remotely from anywhere in the United States.

Sportswriting Intern Responsibilities

Interns are expected to work an average of five to eight hours a week, making contributions of content at regular, pre-determined intervals in a reliable fashion. Interns must have Internet access and a computer, and should be familiar with using the Internet, social media sites, word processing programs, and so forth. Intern responsibilities can include:

• Creation of stories for athlete web sites using combination of traditional and social media content

• Research for athletes' social media properties

• Marketing assistance

• Additional assistance to Athlete Interactive editors

Internship candidates must have at least a year of experience working for a college newspaper, preferably as a sportswriter, and must supply a resume and a minimum of five clips. The internship is unpaid.

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP

Each participant in our Social Media Internship works directly with Athlete Interactive editors to help produce content for the social media properties of one or more company clients.

We are looking to bring on two social media interns from from October 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Interns may work remotely from anywhere in the United States.

Intern Responsibilities

Interns are expected to work an average of five to eight hours a week, researching and creating content for social media platforms at regular, pre-determined intervals in a reliable fashion. Interns must have Internet access and a computer, and should be familiar with using the Internet, social media sites, word processing programs, and so forth. Intern responsibilities can include:

• Creating short-form content (images/quotes/stories) for athletes' social media properties

• Researching social media platforms for relevant sources of content

• Additional assistance to Athlete Interactive editors

Intern Requirements

Internship candidates must be familiar with all of the major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snap and Twitter), have an in-depth knowledge of sports, be enthusiastic and dependable, and have thorough research skills. The internship is unpaid.
