The university is part of the Touro College and University System and is located on the northern tip of San Francisco Bay in Vallejo, California. It has 1,403 students in three graduate professional colleges (Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Education and Health Sciences).     POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary function of the Publications and Projects Coordinator is to perform a variety of writing and/or editorial duties, including plans, designs, writes text, edits and/or produces university materials and communications/marketing/program collateral. This position serves as an active member of the marketing and communications team to implement the design and/or production of marketing, advertising, Web (online) and print publication projects related to operations of University departments and schools and in support of enrollment and fundraising efforts. This position reports directly to the Director of Internal Communications and the Associate Vice President of University Communications.

    QUALIFICATIONS: is the Education, Training and/or related experience needed by the person to perform the job.
  • Five-plus year's related experience with proven project leadership skills required.
  • College degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, BA/BS preferred, or related field, or an equivalent of education plus experience;
  • Journalism experience preferred;
  • Strong working knowledge of printing and graphic arts procedures and related computer software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems;
  • Proven command of editorial, grammatical, writing skills and techniques; and
  • Ability to operate a digital camera.
  • Demonstrated creative thinker in developing editorial content and solutions to marketing and communication challenges;
  • Self-starter who is organized and detail-oriented with excellent planning and problem-solving skills;
  • Able to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and proven ability to meet deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work alone, one-on-one, or as part of a larger team;
  • Ability to interview faculty, students, staff and administration in a professional manner; and
  • Exercise effective judgment, be diplomatic and tactful; exhibit confidentiality and a sense of humor.
