The McLean County News, a weekly newspaper in Kentucky, is seeking a full-time general news reporter.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated with a “can do” attitude that can handle a variety of assignments, such as sports reporting, government meetings, crime and features. This position primarily works in McLean County, but also assists with and has support from the newsroom of its sister newspaper, the Messenger-Inquirer, a daily that publishes seven days a week in Owensboro, Kentucky, and circulates across five counties.

If you have a passion for community journalism, this is an excellent opportunity to thrive as a reporter. The McLean County News is part of a growing newspaper chain of small and mid-size dailies.

The successful candidate will have excellent writing, accurate reporting skills, knowledge of basic photography and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
