The Opelika-Auburn News, the hometown paper for Auburn University and less than two hours from Atlanta, has reopened our hunt for a solid reporter to cover one of our most important and high-traffic beats: all things criminal justice. It’s a lively, interesting beat sure to provide plenty of top stories. Secondary beat is the city of Opelika, which has a cool downtown and is home to the Grand National golf course, among many other attributes.

We also have plenty of fun general assignments to pop up, so you’ll have lots of opportunity to grow your writing/reporting skills and enjoy storytelling in a variety of ways. Pay for this position is in the upper 20s, with the door open to numerous future opportunities.  Full benefit package available, including 401K;  Pre-employment drug screen and background screen required; EOE/M/F/D/V
